What is Zumba Fitness? Where can you find Zumba exercise videos or Zumba DVDs? How do you become a Zumba Trainer? How can you Spice Up Your Body?

Zumba is a fitness program that is inspired by Latin dance. It was founded in 1999 by Alberto 'Beto' Perez, who started out as an aerobics instructor in Cali, Colombia. While teaching in Colombia, Beto uniquely combined traditional dance steps with aerobic movements to create a fun dance fitness exercise class he called Rumbacise. After moving to Miami, Florida, he teamed up with Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion to turn his Rumbacise class into what we now know as Zumba. Zumba combines many different Latin and international rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic exercise routine that is more like a Zumba party than a fitness class. Some of the dance / music styles included in a typical Zumba routine include salsa, meringue, cumbia, reggaeton, mambo, calypso, flamenco and rumba. The Zumba Advanced DVD offers a great way to learn to dance while burning calories and having fun!

In Columbia, the name Zumba means to move fast and have fun, and that is exactly what you will do with the Zumba dance fitness program! Since the Zumba exercise videos were released, Zumba has sold more than 2 million dance fitness DVDs in over 30 countries.

With Zumba's incredible popularity in the exercise videos / DVDs arena, it was only natural that Zumba would become one of the fastest growing health club classes around. Over 2 million people in 30 countries at over 3,000 facilities have joined the Zumba revolution. Also, Zumba has a unique program in which Zumba Master Trainers hold workshops all around the country to train and certify Zumba instructors. Currently, Zumba has over 2,000 Zumba instructors worldwide. You can visit Zumba?s website here to check for Zumba workshops in your area!
